Night Sky Discovery Event

What:

  • Explore hands-on science activities for children, teenagers, and adults
  • Observe planets, stars, galaxies and the beauty of the night sky using telescopes made available by the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston
  • Investigate computer-based activities with the assistance of MIT and Harvard science educators
  • Door prizes for all and special prizes for the best night sky explorers!

Why:

Learn about opportunities for Roxbury teens to reach for the stars through the After-School Astronomy Project.

WHO:

This event is a collaboration of the MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, the Timothy Smith Network, and the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston.

This event is funded through grants from NASA and the National Science Foundation.
