Microsoft Unlimited Potential
Microsoft Unlimited Potential (UP) is a global initiative designed to help narrow the technology skills gap and aid global workforce development by providing technology skills through Community-Based Technology and Computer Learning Centers
During 2004-2005 the TSN received Microsoft Unlimited Potential Community Learning Curriculum for use in all TS Centers as well as a cash grant in the amount of $50,000 to implement train-the-trainer for this curriculum at all centers during fiscal 2006 and to coordinate various projects at the TS Centers.

Microsoft Software Distribution
In addition to cash assistance provided through Microsoft UP grants, Microsoft also donated the latest software technology to eligible nonprofit organizations. the TSN successfully coordinated the proposals from three TSN centers selected by Microsoft to receive software donations.

Boston Public Library VAULT Project
Virtually Anywhere User Library Technology (VAULT), available through the Boston Public Library, enables TS Centers to partner with neighborhood libraries and to create a “kiosk" of information from the library’s online database and features homework help and book search services for students. Thirteen 13 centers continued to participate in the VAULT. Several others have expressed interest. Through the E-rate program Participating Centers receive T1 Internet access at a monthly cost of $66.99. This results in an annual savings to each center of $3,960 over commercially available rates.

Kinetic City: Mission to Vearth
Produced by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, with support from the National Science Foundation, Kinetic City: Mission to Vearth is the after-school standards-based science program in which kids complete activities in conjunction with a dynamic website produced by AAAS. Through a grant from the Timothy Smith Fund ($16,875), 15 centers received Kinetic City kits to provide Science components to their after-school programs. Staff from the Centers received a full day of training by Bob Hirshon of Kinetic City in May. The market value of the Kinetic City Kits is $1,500 per Center.
